The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the posting of new Commissioners of Police to Adamawa, Imo and Plateau States.
This was made known in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, DCP Frank Mba, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, postings to states and formations are Adamawa State – CP Olugbenga Adeyanju, fdc; Imo State – CP Isaac Olutayo Akinmoyede, fdc; Plateau State – CP Edward Chuka Egbuka; and FCID, FHQ, Abuja – CP Audu Adamu Madaki.
“While enjoining the citizens of the affected States to accord the CPs maximum support and cooperation, the IGP charges the newly posted officers to ensure that they effectively consolidate and improve on the performances of their predecessors.
“The postings are with immediate effect,” the statement read.

Adamawa Police Net 3 Suspected Shila Boys

The Adamawa state police command has confirmed the arrest of three (3) members of Shilla boys syndicate of zone A, whose criminal network spread across Doubeli, Chinko and Jambutu in Yola North local government area.
Police spokesman in the state , DSP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement gave the names of the suspects as Nasiru Umaru age 18yrs, Adamu Muhammed 32yrs and
Babaji Audi 22yrs.
” The suspects who are being investigated in connection to Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery were arrested at Ngurore.
” On the 20thJanuary,2021 The Command received information about the suspicious movement of the syndicate in a particular hideout situated at a remote area of Ngurore.
” On the strength of that, the Commissioner of police Adamawa state, CP A. A. ALHAJI,psc immediately deployed operatives led by DPO Ngurore Division and they luckily apprehended all the suspects.” The statement reads.
It further states that the Command has commended the Police operatives of Ngurore Division for their immediate response which resulted in the successes recorded.
” The CP while appreciating the citizens for their cooperation and support so far, calls for improved partnership and collaboration between the citizens and the Police particularly in the areas of providing credible and actionable information to the Police which is required in tackling crimes and apprehending unrepentant criminals in the state.
Insecurity: Gov Fintiri Assures New Adamawa CP Maximum Support
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State , on Tuesday , assured the new Commissioner of Police deployed to the state, Adamu Aliyu Alhaji maximum support to fight crime and criminality in the state.
The Governor gave the assurance when he received in audience the new Police Commissioner on a courtesy call in the Government House Yola.
Fintiri who applauded the the former CP for addressing security challenges plaguing the State had prevailed on the new posted commissioner to follow the footprints.
He stated that the present administration in the state has done a lot in tackling insecurity which include provision of patrol vehicles to security agencies under “Operation Farauta” assuring that the government will continue to render support towards enhancing security in the state.
Earlier in his remark, the Commissioner of Police, Adamu Aliyu Alhaji said he was at Government House Yola to inform Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri that he has assumed office.
Hence he solicited the support of Governor Fintiri towards stemming the tide of security in Adamawa.
Breaking : Gunmen Kidnap Prominent Adamawa Ruler, Ardo Ma’Farang
Some gunmen have kidnapped a prominent Adamawa traditional ruler Ardo MaFarang, Ardo mustapha Ardo Ahmadu.
Reports say that the monarch was kidnapped on Monday around 12midnight in Mayo Farang, in Mayo Belwa local government area.
Ardo mustapha , is the District Head of Mayo- Farang and Sarkin Noman Adamawa.
“He was kidnapped in Mayo- Farang, he just returned from Abuja, after Ishai prayer.
“There was much exchange of fire between them and some vigilante or palace guard.
“This is unfortunate, and the kidnappers they are yet to contact the family in this early morning, ” said a frightened resident.

Confirming the abduction, police spokesman in the state DSP Suleiman Nguroje said already the state police command had since deployed it’s personnel to rescue the kidnapped monarch.
” On getting the news of the abduction of the traditional ruler, police immediately swung into action and the commissioner of police had tasked personnel deployed to rescue him.
” They (gunmen) are being trail and by God’s grace he will be rescued, ” police assured.
To this end, the police image maker prevailed on the need for residents to assist in providing useful information that could help in tracking down bandits and other criminals now plaguing the society.
“Security is for everyone, so people should also help by providing useful information or reporting any suspicious persons around them, ” Nguroje urges.
